You're not that important!

This is my NEW life motto. Until now I have embraced save the world one vote, one moment and one piece of trash at the time. You're special.
Well it's a good thing I'm so flipping special. If I wasn't so special how would I manage to reverse global warming, reform government and make it home in time to serve my daughter food in non-cancer leaching plastic dishes and wash them with earth friendly dish detergent? Save the planet and while you're at it don't forget that your child has three crucial first years for brain development. Stop snuggling and start working on those synapses!!

I can't even bear the guilt of my daughter's busted lip resulting from some reckless bed jumping let alone the fate of the world. I feel more relaxed already knowing that my children's waffle breakfast is NOT paving the way for a lifetime of obesity. That's a huge step. I hope this works because otherwise I might need to turn to prescription drugs to manage all this anxiety. On second thought, I read that prescription drugs are being excreted in our urine and contaminating the water. Oh well, so much for that idea.

You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake!

I figure, if we all do the best we can, then we're doing pretty good. Make conscientious decisions, but don't beat yourself up.

And I bet that bed jumping was a lot of fun until - well - you know...

In this world of constant harping that "everyone's special" (which means, by default, that no one is) and, unless you are "perfect" you and your family will have a miserable life and die a horrifying death, my philosophy is to turn off the radio (I haven't had cable in four years), avoid the magazine/book advice that tells me I do everything wrong, and just LIVE. I know I'm going to mess up, but I'd rather not be reminded of it all the time and just do my best.

I'd offer you one of my anxiety pills, but after reading that, I might have to double up for today.

And the lip looks adorable. No worries. They heal quickly. Believe me, I've got two boys :-)

I swear you have one of the most entertaining blogs out there! I love reading them and can't wait for the next one. Best part is... when I am reading them, I sometimes think "Wow! That's EXACTLY how I feel!". Aside from the busted lip, that is a cute picture of your baby!!!

Youknow, I was going to laugh. But then I thought about all that you brought up. We are just a sad bunch of people that get so anxious over all the external things when there are people right in front of us who are looking to receive love.

Hope that lip heals up nicely and quickly for her!

We can't do anything right. Our kids are going to me so messed up by the time they're adults and we're gonna be all "But I fed you waffles and was careful with your detergent...." and it's not gonna matter.

Hi. I'm Kathy. And optimism is my middle name. ;)

Thanks for the super duper incredible comment you left me today. WOW~ it made my week....month. :)

oh and FYI, cause I feel special enough to tell you this today....My Sugar Bear and I have ended the breast feeding adventure in past month. 54 months of super duper brain enhancing, bond making, boob ruining, adventures are through. I wouldn't change a thing though. :) I can roll these boobies up and tuck them in my bra. They "look" nice that way. LOL

lol at the busted lip... not that its funny but that my kids have been damaged once too often at my insistent words of "c'mon, it'll be fun, try it." Then... whoops, maybe not so much :-p They are all still alive so I must be doing ok.
