Breastfeeding Doll

Am I the only person in the world that finds this doll hysterical and NOT creepy?I must be suffering from Outrage Deficiency Syndrome. I browsed through all the comments expressing shock and disgust on NEW PARENT and You Tube. I still can't shake the image of hubby donning the nursing apron and pressing the doll to his tiny "lilies" to show Princess how it is done. He is the official new toy demonstrator after all. Why should this be any different? Reading all the comments actually made me laugh harder. It's just a doll not a pack of pretend birth control pills!

I do not promise to be lucid in the next few days. I feel and look like I have been nursing a nest of angry porcupines at my right breast. My fever is rising. I hope that baby doll comes with pretend cold compresses. I am soothing my own "lilies" with a bag of frozen mangoes. So if you are one of those people that think breastfeeding is icky and you find yourself at my dinner table, don't eat the mangoes!!

Please don't forget that August 26th is Women's Equality day. Please send me the link to your post if you tackle the issue of women and equality on your blog!!

That is freaking hysterical! I love it! I am a full supporter of breast feeding and loved breastfeeding my daughter. My niece would watch me sometimes and then try to imitate. Whats the difference?

It's a little creepy to me... but also hysterical. Certainly nothing to be outraged about. And those outraged NEW PARENTs need not fear. That doll would NEVER be released in the U.S. Now, maybe a boy dolly to demonstrate appropriate condom use... that might fly here...

Just wanted to add...
I'm not a big fan of dolls, period. Any doll that mimics human bodily functions is creepy as far as I'm concerned. Poop, pee, vomit, whatever. I just find it weird.

This is so wrong. I mean why can't little girls be little and worry about this when they are much older? I am having my Round Robin on Friday Aug. 7th if you want to stop by.

The video is definitely controversial. That's for sure.

I may be a looney toon, but I saw nothing wrong with it!

What's wrong with teaching girls it's okay to nurse their baby one day? So many women are disgusted with nursing a real baby, I think those same women are just as disgusted with this...

I think it's great. No different than the doll that pee's all over the place!

(I deleted my own comment. The comment box needes spell check!!!) 2nd try...

The condom comment is cracking me up. I was thinking more along the lines of the home birthing accesory kit complete with birthing tub.

Kind of weird...It makes me think of that Barbie doll that was on the market over 10 years ago - the one that would actually have a baby - it would pop out of her stomach. :/

Here from Mama Kat's-Heck, I am with you! The kids pretend doing it anyway when mommy sits down and feeds. I just don't get people and their aversion to proper use of bodily parts and functions! Now, you hang in there...it will be over soon!

I, too, think it's pretty stinkin' hilarious! It's almost too ridiculous to be gross, if that could possibly make sense...

So its ok to make dolls pee and poop but not nurse? puh-leeze. My girls and yes even my boy have all pretended to breast feed their dolls. Its just better pretending. The only way I would like that doll more would be if it could deliver a good solid nip on the nip. HA! Take that!

And I would still eat those mangoes. I have had peas in question before. Comes with being a mom... you never know where your frozen goods have been. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I think it's cute! Kids pretend to BF their dolls anyway, what's the difference?

I got a big case of giggles when I saw this on TV the other day! What will they think of next?!

Oh my gosh. This is too funny for words. I can't believe it is actually real. Wow. Creepy kind of, right?

I'm not really sure what to think of the doll...but I really don't think I'll be buying it for my girls.

And, I totally feel your pain...it was awful. I hope the mangos help!

I think it's pretty cool, though I can't say I'd let my kid take it to a family function, haha.
