The Mommy Blog

What is the appeal of an honest mommy blog?

As mom's we have lost our bladder control, our train of thought, the will to laundry, our original aspirations and even the people we love. Yet we rediscover our humor, will to survive and adoration for something with more substance than nearly anything you come across in The New Yorker. There is nothing funnier than a woman with nothing to lose. God created women but motherhood made us equal. A college education or high profile career does not protect you from the dreaded mommy brain fuzz or sleep deprivation. There are just no amount of degrees in the world to shield a mom from toddler mucus. Some of us are even so humbled by life that we pledge to never take anything too seriously and just try to focus on low crawling through motherhood.

Mommy bloggers restored my faith in the power of language. Blogging offers a medium free from elitist restrictions. I get the opportunity to read what I deem worth reading and not a major publishing company, an editor of an obscure small press or even Oprah thinks I should read or want to read. Substance gets more points with me than grammar. Writing eloquently and grammatically correct about nothing does not impress me. I will take my blogs like my daughter takes her sandwiches, "no crust please".

NOW INTRODUCING THE LATEST COMMENT QUEEN:

I love this Mommy Blogger and she deserves to be named an official Comment Queen. A woman who can drop a great phrase like "follicle migration" in my comment box is worthy of a Comment Queen nod of approval. Plus she shares the "WOO HOO" when she gets a great deal. Does it get better than that? So just click on the button below and enter to win some "Woo Hoo" and snag some Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom. Maybe you will even get lucky and she'll grace you with some comment leaving lovin' .

There has been a few requests for the code for the Comment Queen Award button. I have not forgotten. It will come, eventually..maybe. I nearly promise. CLICK HERE for more facts and detailed information about the Comment Queen Award.

Thank you for your patience. Now I'm off to draw names.

OMG, you are really going to think I'm weird now, but this reminds me of something I heard in the bathroom stall this morning:

Mommy: Keep pushing, honey; it'll come.

Cute Little Preschooler Girl: Grruuunt.

A moment passes.

Mommy: All that work for that little thing?!

CLPG: I know! And it looks just like chicken!!

I call out (a smile in my voice), "What are you feeding that child!?"

Of course, the mom replied (a smile in her voice), "Chicken."

Off to meet your friend!
