AWARD BUFFET

Every time I blog over to pass an award to one of my favorite bloggers someone beats me to the punch and has already graced their blog with that same award. My favorite is when the blogger I think of has already been awarded by the same blogger that awarded me. I guess we all share the same great taste. So I am serving up the awards Buffet Style to all the wonderful ladies who thought of me and I added a few extra blog friends for fun...

http://midlifeandmenapause.blogspot.com/
Her blog is wonderful, random and full of surprises but it is her comments that really knock my socks off. Her comments start my day off better than a hot Caramel Mocchiato with extra whip.
http://www.halfpastkissintime.com/
Host of Friday Fragments and a funny blog buddy. Isn't the name adorable?
Thoughts from the Toilet Bowl
With such a fun title, need I say more? She hosts the "Show Me the Funny"

These bloggers spread the lovin' and I am so grateful they sent some my way. They have all sent me an award, a shout out or a tag. THANK YOU!!!
http://keepingupwiththeschultzfamily.blogspot.com
I love her because she bestowed me with an award and a virtual baby to be. I really love this because a virtual baby is as close as I'll get to a third child. Hubby is soon headed for the snip, snip.
http://mamasinlove.blogspot.com/
This wonderful bloggers is big on showing bloggy love. Her blog is brimming with sweetness and warm fuzzies.
http://beeandrose.blogspot.com/
Her "Old Mom" post had me rolling in the floor.
http://kisatrtleskreativekorner.blogspot.com/
She joined in on Mama Kat's writing assignment and it turned out amazing. She is so clever and obviously up for a challenge
http://franticmomandmore.blogspot.com/
Frantic, sweet, sarcastic and honest. I love it!
http://iblamemom.blogspot.com/
She is one of my "Nearly Martha" friends. "Nearly" only because she is smarter, kinder, more fun and adorable than THE Martha. She is hosting "Kid Friendly Friday" today and already has great directions for colored craft salt.

The Award Buffet is Now Open! Feel free to come back for seconds!!

Now a question... If I type REALLY REALLY fast can I consider that my daily cardio?

Sibling Rivalry

Involving my daughter with my pregnancy helped curb her baby jealousy. We involved her in everything from naming the baby to letting her spruce up my belly's curb appeal with some exterior paint. Despite all our efforts they still fight but I don't stress about sibling rivalry and their battles for Barbie control and toy dominance. I know they will eventually find their own unique place in the world and stop fighting over the same space.
I love my own sister. I adore her and can't imagine my life without her. She held me down, spit in my face, flushed my head down the toilet and locked me outside buck naked. I am a better person for all her torture. We are as close and drastically different as only sisters can be. I remind myself that my daughters' spats, battles and quarrels are the foundation for a lifetime friendship. I have stopped obsessing over fostering a loving relationship free of sibling rivalry between my children. Instead I am trying to remind myself that they are two individuals building a relationship. Their strongest bonding moments will develop when I am not around and it is a bond that will probably outlast me. They are already sorting things out beautifully without me playing referee. My oldest assured me today,
"Don't worry mom, I'm training baby sister".

Two Cents Tuesday

My Two Cents for today is that celebrity gossip and scandal are a waste of article space. In the mess of local and world news it is hard to find a speck of inspirational good news. The color of Angelina Jolie's lip gloss is more apt to make national headlines than the mission of a child to change the world.

I think this princess is more news worthy than the gloom and glam that dominates today's news. Her name is Caroline and she took it upon herself to raise money for animal rescue. With the support of her mother she designed and sold jewelry with the intention of helping save animals. She raised over two hundred dollars and donated the entire sum to ARF Tulsa. If I wasn't affiliated with the group her inspirational story would have slipped by me.
Her donation will help more abused and abandoned pets like Hairless Harriet make a full recovery. It is uplifting to know that children with giving hearts are taking the initiative to change the world. I hope to follow in her small footsteps and learn from her commitment and unwavering dedication to a cause outside of herself. Please considering clicking on the link below and leaving a comment for Caroline at ARF Tulsa's blog. I can't roll her out the red carpet or score her a magazine cover but maybe we can let her know that her act of kindness has not gone unnoticed.

Thank you so much for letting me share this little bit of inspiration with you. I adore working with various charitable organizations because I meet so many caring and selfless people. When I am down, depressed and worrying about my children's future their stories of generosity restore my faith in humanity.
What inspires you? How do you find inspiration?

Your Mission

Your Mission if you choose to accept it is "FIND WENDA". For me the pull of an all out Wenda search is strong enough without adding the chance to win a $50 Victoria's Secret gift card AND Clarisonic Skin Care System , valued at $200. Click below and let the search begin...

This is the reason I love SITS! They get me addicted to fun games, contests and amazing blogs. They are to blame for my blogging addiction.
That being said..Hubby is coming home this weekend. So all the amazing tags, awards and bloggy gratitude will be temporarily on pause. I hope sharing the Wenda fun will be enough to win you over and earn your forgiveness during my bloggy vacation.

What is the one thing strong enough to fight the pull of an all out Wenda search?

This is my oldest with her daddy, my forever love.

He is a castle making, dragon chasing, groove shaking glitter Daddy to two daughters.

He is also my "Hot&Heavy".

My "Mr. For Now" turned "Mr. Forever".

He has been gone since January. Need I say more?? ;)

*What if Wenda shows up in my comment box? Well, that my friends is bloggy fate and I am not one to ignore such blatant signs.

It's PhotoStory Friday TODAY!!

Are you MOM crazy?

This time I need your two cents.
How do you manage the anxiety and fear that comes with having children?
My heart pauses a thousand times of day. I hit mini cardiac arrest every time the baby manages something worthy of Huggies X Games. I would like to think that I will become less fearful but I know the teenage years will bring on things that make a trip to the ER and a few stitches a piece of cake. I think about the women I have known. I think how they have been hurt and attacked in violent ways.
I know that I can teach my children about choices, safety and values. However, I also know that there are intelligent women who do everything right and still find themselves in harms way. Once I became a mother every woman, every child that makes the news is MY child. These pieces of horror that make the news hit me harder than contractions ever did. When I was pregnant I wanted my children in my arms so that I knew they were safe. Now I realize having them tucked away under my heart was the closest to safe they ever were in this crazy world. My mother visited last April and that was the first time I went anywhere without my girls. I have not left them since. I am a crazy neurotic mom. Just writing this post makes me feel a sudden onset of complete and total heart failure.
The topic is parenting but topic choices are optional. It is YOUR two cents so please dish it out as you see fit!
Share your "Two Cents" or ask for some and sign Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post. The Rules are flexible, loose and optional but if you don't believe me just Click Here for all the details .
Next Week's Topic: Inspiration.
Where do you find it? What inspires you? When do you need it? Or anything else that you have two cents on. The only requirement is that your two cents is free and that you play nice.

The Breastache

I did NOT google "nipple hair" for the reassurance that I am not the only one devolving into a hairy cave woman. I did NOT breathe a sigh of relief when I found that a touch of breastache is fairly common.

Now if your breastache is more Joaquin Phoenix than Clarke Gable...

you might want to Google "polycystic ovary disease" because a sudden and severe attack of breastache can be a sign of excessive "androgen".
Now aren't you glad I did NOT launch my own investigation of the breastache and then subject you to it?
CLICK HERE for a great resource on the breastache and hair removal.

Get ready to hand out some free two cents. The Two Cents topic is maintaining sanity while parenting, parenting while crazy or anything else you have some two cents on. As always topics are optional. Two cents is free and I never complain about FREE stuff! I hope you stop back by later and link up!
Now excuse me I am off to pluck my…..eyebrows. YEP, that's it. My eyebrows!!

The Mommy Blog

What is the appeal of an honest mommy blog?

As mom's we have lost our bladder control, our train of thought, the will to laundry, our original aspirations and even the people we love. Yet we rediscover our humor, will to survive and adoration for something with more substance than nearly anything you come across in The New Yorker. There is nothing funnier than a woman with nothing to lose. God created women but motherhood made us equal. A college education or high profile career does not protect you from the dreaded mommy brain fuzz or sleep deprivation. There are just no amount of degrees in the world to shield a mom from toddler mucus. Some of us are even so humbled by life that we pledge to never take anything too seriously and just try to focus on low crawling through motherhood.

Mommy bloggers restored my faith in the power of language. Blogging offers a medium free from elitist restrictions. I get the opportunity to read what I deem worth reading and not a major publishing company, an editor of an obscure small press or even Oprah thinks I should read or want to read. Substance gets more points with me than grammar. Writing eloquently and grammatically correct about nothing does not impress me. I will take my blogs like my daughter takes her sandwiches, "no crust please".

NOW INTRODUCING THE LATEST COMMENT QUEEN:

I love this Mommy Blogger and she deserves to be named an official Comment Queen. A woman who can drop a great phrase like "follicle migration" in my comment box is worthy of a Comment Queen nod of approval. Plus she shares the "WOO HOO" when she gets a great deal. Does it get better than that? So just click on the button below and enter to win some "Woo Hoo" and snag some Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom. Maybe you will even get lucky and she'll grace you with some comment leaving lovin' .

There has been a few requests for the code for the Comment Queen Award button. I have not forgotten. It will come, eventually..maybe. I nearly promise. CLICK HERE for more facts and detailed information about the Comment Queen Award.

Thank you for your patience. Now I'm off to draw names.

If Hubby Fires Me.....

PLEASE CLICK HERE to enter the Aloha Give Away.
Mama Kat's dishing out the writing assignments so here it goes.. Let's say for bloggy sake that I've just been laid off. What fabulous thing will I do with my life NOW???
This pup pictured above is ready for adoption & waiting for love in Tulsa, OK. www.arftulsa.org

Now wait a minute! Can we talk about why I was laid off for a second? Was it those nutritional meals of sand coated fries. Was it the floors? Did I not mop enough, sweep the floors and vacuum enough? Know THIS "Mr. Mangerie" ….. a dirty house is essential to survival. In the event of a major disaster we could survive on the Cheerios on our floor alone!! That doesn't even take into account the Twinkies stored in the pantry. Twinkies NEVER go bad baby! But alright "Mr. Mangerie" let's assume it is NOT my inferior cleaning/mothering skills and you just decided to bring in a younger replacement after my year long maternity leave. Maybe your trying to appeal to the younger crowd. I get it, she's all cutting edge and on top of her game. I can take it. Are you changing your company image? Going for something a little more treadmill than oatmeal? Well I'm not going to sit around and cry. I'm headed over to "The Last Ogle" they got smoked by the housewives in nearly every Okie Blog Award Category and are a little bitter. They put the call out for a 40+ housewife to kick them into award winning condition. Who better than this mom? I'm not 40 yet but I can pretend. Since you never sprung for those implants and botox they probably won't even notice. It might cut into my new sniper gig though.

(Thank you Mr. Mangerie for not "really" firing me. Still up for some employee fraternization?)

Please Note: This is not a call to arms. The Lost Ogle is actually rather funny and took some serious slack already. They now know not to mess with the mommies.
Interested in The Lost Ogle's job offer? I don't think they're serious but if you're curious you could blog over there and give them some traffic or just get the recap from my favorite ladies at Idabel by CLICKING HERE
Their post titled "The Lost Boobie" should bring you up to speed.
Now go get your writing assignment from Mama Kat over at Mama's Losin' It.

Your Two Cents, Pretty Please!

WARNING: This post has LESS sexual innuendo than Shrek but be warned anyway.
Romance is about more than waxing everything off or springing for an overpriced greeting card. The first is my absolute favorite response to "How do I bring back the Romance?" It's good in theory but there are way too many variables in such a risky endeavor. Allergic reaction and ingrown hairs to name a few. Valentine's should not be divided between the Hallmark aisle or Spencer's. Celebrate the things you love about each other by doing your favorite things or venturing outside your box. For the price of dinner, a movie and a box of chocolates you could spring for skydiving or trapeze lessons. So don't waste money on dinner and those cheesy love dice. Save your money, make some memories and then have the best kind of free fun.
But How do you romance each other while married with kids?
The key is prioritizing. When the kids are in bed and we've barricaded them in their rooms hubby makes several crucial decisions.....
Clean laundry
or…
ummmmm "Snuggle time"
THEN….
I tell him that if wants some smooth leg "snuggle time" it means that we'll have to shave a few minutes off our time together. He chooses fuzzy lovin' every time and THAT is why I miss him so much. He is a man with his priorities straight and there is nothing more romantic than that.
On Valentine's day don't worry about me missing my hubby. Last Valentine's "mangerie" moment was enough sexy to sustain me for the rest of my life. Only two more weeks to go until he's home!
That's my two cents. Please share your "Two Cents" and sign Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post. The Rules are flexible, loose and optional but if you don't believe me just Click Here for all the details .
And one more thing, play nice or I'll borrow
Mama Kat's Purse and break out her smacking spoon.

Not Me! Monday

I did NOT try to rock muscle tanks when I was nine months pregnant. I did not think I was looking sporty pregnant when in reality I looked more like Slim Shady's chubby twin sister. That is not me posing with my fabulously leggy sis. I am not still infinitely jealous that she snagged all the height for herself and stuck me with the stubby leftovers. I did not secretly worry that one of my daughter's would have to grow up feeling like the ugly sister.
Note to Self: When posing with skinny non pregnant hotties request face shots only.
Please join in on Not Me Monday with the fabulous McKmama!

Romance Me Baby

I'll save my Two Cents for Tuesday but here is some spare change:
Having hubby in a separate country really sucks the romance right out of a Valentine's Day. I know there are love letters and conversation..blah blah blah. That is all fine and dandy. I just want my hysterically hot MANgerie wearing hubby home. NOW.

Please Note: "MANgerie" is not to be confused with "Menagerie". Menagerie refers to a royal animal collection and "MANgerie" is well…..it's…ummmm…..well…..not that. "MANgerie" is a bad idea. When a woman says to her hubby, "Lingerie" is for men not women. She means that women's lingerie is overrated and very uncomfortable. She does NOT mean that she wants hubby to sport some red hot mesh "mangerie". Only the hottest of men can work "mangerie" and even then only after the hottest man's wife finally manages to stop laughing hysterically.
Have I told you lately how much I love my estrogen challenged hubby?

Two Cents Tuesday is coming up and I would love to see some two cents on ROMANCE. So get ready to give it up. Share some two cents on anything from keeping romance alive to snagging some or just plain avoiding it. Two Cents Mr. Linky will go up Monday night ALOHA time.

Spreading Some Love

I planned on linking you to several great bloggers making the world a better place but
Dirty Socks and Pizza beat me to the punch.
Her Linkiest Post ever focuses on some big hearted people making the world a better place. So please click over and start blog hopping for a cause. Be ready to get inspired. I love the name of her blog too. The only thing better would be "Dirty Socks ON Pizza".

Now I would like to direct your attention to the followers. See the fabulous modelesque blond? Well she IS a model. Under normal circumstances I would consider blocking her. That happy face and fab hair is equivalent to attaching a bikini pic of Gabrielle Reece to my wall with a motivational quote. I'm apt to run from the computer and hit the exercise bike and we just can't have that. However….she is even more hysterical and big hearted than she is stunning. I know your doubting that it is even possible. Please go read her funny posts. My favorite is
I'll just say in advance..I told you so! :) And consider yourself warned this daring woman was brave enough to sport a string bikini in full pregnant bloom. Okay not TOO brave, she rocked that bare belly. And she is giving me a prize for being able to identify a Giant Anteater but that is NOT why she is fabulous. She could give me no glory and a stale biscuit and I would still have to share her fun blog with you all. Have a great weekend. I'll be loving on my princesses and grabbing some goodies for the Aloha Give Away Grand Finale!!
For now I'm off to figure out how to simultaneously blog and do Yoga. Alright. Alright. You got me! I'm going to eat bacon nachos while photo editing and watching "I Love Lucy" !

Would you like to honor sweet Tuesday? Information on donating to Tuesday's Memorial fund or a cancer research organization in her name has been posted on their family blog...

SHADOW PLAY PICTURE TIPS

Top Five Reasons for Silhouette Photographs
5. They are timeless
4. They make digital tummy tucks a cinch
3. No uncomfortable posing is required
2. Even rioting anti picture taking children look peaceful
1. My legs are hairy and you can't even tell! HA! Razor's are so overrated.
Silhouette pics are always stunning and the closest you will ever get to seeing me in my bikini on the beach. They are so mom friendly because they capture nothing more than the spirit of the moment. I won't look back on this picture and think "What was I wearing???" Instead I will remember the sunset and us linked together.
Now if I could just live the rest of my life back lit!
Shadow Play Tips:
Want your own silhouette pic but don't have anyone to take it? Try photographing your shadow. Take the picture with the camera in front of your body and it won't even show up in the shot. Shadow pics are also the perfect way to to showcase a growing baby bump if your pregnant!!
Just make sure the light is behind what you are photographing and click away. Clothes aren't important but posture is. The more "gaps" in the body the better, arms spread, leg bent etc....
If your silhouette picture turns out too bright just increase the contrast and adjust the brightness but don't forget to save the original!!!

Angela invited me to participate in
her new Friday High Five and you know I just couldn't resist a great blog carnival with loose rules. Just five things, any things!! You should click over and join in.
And one of my favorite things about Friday....

Be sure to check out http://www.iheartfaces.com/ to see all the other beautiful faces that have been entered into the contest!

My pet photo contest entry is a picture of the other woman.
Just like the rest of my competition she is blue eyed and stunning. I feed her, take her in and THIS is how she repays me! By stealing my man! She runs to the door for the first evening lovings and snuggles her way in between us at night. Until I learn to jump up on his shoulder and purr in his ear I think I will just have to settle for last in this house! My smitten green eyed hubby is my entry for the adult contest. He is a magnet for adoring blue eyed beauties!!

Awards Gone Wild

Just weeks ago I was just award wanting and now I'm award winning. POOF!! Hmm this must be how Slum Dog Millionaire feels. So here we go....

Meet the bloggers with great taste and please visit them for the fun award details!!:
The Downs Gang
Fairy Princess
I Blame My Mother
AND NOW THE LATEST AND GREATEST WINNERS ARE:

The Masked Mommy

Sweet Angel Memories

Mrs. Shy

Photobucket

Seriously! All of these multitasking bloggers should take home awards in multiple categories.
If you get any award from me feel free to break out your happy dance. If you are not too exhausted from your victory dance just pass it on and if you are a rule follower visit the original award giver for detailed rules. I tend to make up my own. I'm sure there is medication for my rule breaking tendencies but I would just forget to take it.
If you were so thrilled you danced yourself to exhaustion then by all means just relax and don't stress. Get some rest. I know you are honored, thrilled and that you love me back. It is one of those things that just goes without saying. HUGS, LOVE AND CONGRATS!

So I Blame my Mother technically just "tagged" me not "awarded" me but it's my blog and I say it is an award so there!
Now for those 25 random things she asked for. Okay! Okay! You only get fourteen. What can I say? I'm an underachiever.

1. I met hubby trapped in an alien abduction class that was posing as Introduction to Geology
2. There has not been a man born into my mom's side of the family for over 70 years.
3. I want a Sea Biscuit
4. I once stayed in a Quichia village and reforested the rain forest.
5. I still spell check tomato and potato.
6. I met Billy Collins and was deeply disappointed. He was more lusty koala than Poet Laureate .
7. I can pinch you with my toes and open doors with my feet.
8. D.C Berry is my hero. He's like a Jimmy Buffett coated Clint Eastwood with a hint of Whitman. 9. I love bacon. EVERYTHING is better with bacon
10. Trier, Germany was one of my favorite places in Europe
11. I have naturally frizzy hair.
12. My grandmother spoke Cherokee.
13. Baby #1 Emergency Cesarean
14. Baby #2 VBAC
TAG YOUR IT!!!
