I started by nicking the car, then had my wisdom teeth cut out, had the flu twice, took hubby to the Emergency Room, took baby wild to the Emergency Room, the truck broke down and we found out hubby will probably be deploying to a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad place. Is it 2011 yet? And does anyone have any tips on how to break a five year old from sucking on her germy little fingers?
P.S: Please don't worry. We are well enough. Nothing time and a membership to the wine of the month club won't fix.

Oh my gosh! What a couple of months. My oldest son just found out he may be deploying to one of those places, too. So far their 2010 has been much like yours without the ER visits. I pray GOD will hold you up, strengthen you, and bless the coming days like never before. May HE fill you with His presence, peace, love, and comfort.
As for sucking the germy finger. It will happen in time. They use to make something yucky tasting to put on a child's thumb/finger, but I am not sure if they still do that. My boys sucked passy's, but our daughter sucked her thumb until she was about 8-10 and nothing worked. She finally stopped on her own.
Blessings, andrea
i think you should move to australia. sorry. couldn't resist.
Oh, honey...you've got 10 more months to make it better. Here's hoping for it.
oh me oh my...you need to go back to bed, and start this year over again.
Praying for you!!
Sitka has an award for you at All Gods Creatures. Hugs, andrea
Aw, sweetie, you sound like you need that wine of the month club! I have often considered the chocolate of the month club myself.
As for the 5 year old and the germy fngers - I don't think there's any help for it. Mine used to do it, I worried for ages then decided to just chill. It's not a huge deal, just wash hands when possible but otherwise ... it will stop eventually.
Dang that sucks but I can relate. Hope things start looking up for you soon sweetie! As far as the thumb sucking goes, the only time I had even a little luck with breaking my daughter of the habit was when I dunked her thumb in tabasco sauce. When it wore off/was washed off, the thumb was back. I think she was around 7 when she just stopped one day.
Lawdy - 2009 was HORRID for us!!! Crossing my fingers that things will quickly turn around!
But what about bacon? Bacons fixes everything, right? You wrote to me to mix in bacon grease, and I totally agree. :)
Your post also reminded me of the Shel Silverstein poem, "Sick"..."I have the measles and the mumps, a gash and rash and purple bumps...my tongue is wet, my throat is dry...I'm going blind in my right eye."
It will get better. Thanks for the comments!
