A Birth

She smacked into our window and then gave birth right under the window sill.
What mother can't relate to being smacked silly into motherhood?
Lost. Disoriented. Confused. Frightened.
Some fly away, wings or no wings.

Seriously. The parallel you drew to motherhood is so spot on. And that fact that the bird lay her egg there and you caught it is spectacular!

That's so lovely. I take it she was alright after smacking into the window? The last bird that hit my window was a little worse for wear afterwards, if you know what I mean.
