Just Fake it!!

I don't make icing sweetened with organic apple juice. When the kids are screaming instead of whipping out my superior parenting skills I whip out my emergency marshmallow stash. Don't even get me started on my new bra and faux pedicures. Do you ever fake being fabulous? My New Year's resolution is to fake it more often. If I can shed my Martha complex I just might have more time for this....

and this...

(This moment is courtesy of icing in a can. It is fabulous and it makes me look oh so Martha. I fill cones 2/3 full with boxed cake mix and bake in a cup cake pan. Then squirt on the icing so it looks like soft serve ice cream. VOILA! And in the true spirit of faking it I must confess that I am not a gourmet genius. The recipe is on the back of the cone box)

I think I will start on my New Year's resolution early! I'm off to buy some Spanx. First I'm going to splash a little cleaner in the sink so it smells like I scrubbed the house.

Every confession in my comment box gets you an entry in the oh so fabulous Aloha giveaway!!
Macadamia nuts, Kona coffee and more could all be yours! Just make sure I can reach you if you win! Last day to enter will be Sunday, January 3rd.

And BTW if the Spanx doesn't work I'm just going to laugh my butt off and I think I will start here..

Great advice! I have a major 'Martha' complex too...I think I'll take your advice and 'fake it' a little...maybe I wouldn't be so crazy all the time!

hhahaaahhhaha you are funny! Stopping by from SITS.

hmm how do I fake it? Well for one I LOVE spanx and have about 3 pairs. don't wear them everyday but when I do I feel like a million bucks. Christmas cookies came out of a pillbury cookie roll and the kids love it. And while I wanted to make something yummy and homemade for a party I went to too I just ended up buying dip and throwing it in a bread bowl. ANd the list can go on but I will spare you. Have a great day! Tammy

Windex!!! In five minutes, one can spritz the mirror, sink and the top of the toilet bowl, wipe them down, and still have time to apply mascara!

With coupons from craft stores, I build up a supply of decorative boxes where I can quickly stash mail, magazines and toys...and my "Martha" shines!

Keep marshmallow cream on hand for quick s'mores, or add to peanut butter sandwiches. The kids will think you are a rock star!

Miss Bliss, you crack me up! It's wonderful to see you having so much fun with your girls!

cute post. my confession is that I don't really clean my room and when I do I kind of just throw all my clean cloths in a drawer, I work all the time so its hard to make sure my house is clean. however, I do make sure that i have something nice on for work. :)/ visiting from sits.

Those are great pictures. This blog reminds me of this blog I wrote:

I always manage to say "awww" or laugh my a** in half at your blogs. Thanks for doing this. Thanks for helping me shed some lbs off of this gigantic butt.

My confession...Spanx totally work. And, if you think they are too small, they are perfect.

Oh, and while they say not to wear undies with them, I totally do.

I also confess to being thankful that I'm off work this week, but my girls can still go to daycare. I hope that doesn't make me awful.

Oh, sister, right there with you...

Here's one...

I throw my dirty jeans and sweaters in the dryer with two or three dryer sheets just to make them (and me) smell as if I actually do laundry.

Light lemon candles, they make the house smell like you've cleaned!

My confession....I used prepackaged cookie dough for ALL of my Christmas cookies. And cake mixes....just so much easier!

Let's see.....hhhhmmmmm......I use the Pillsbury chocolate chip ready made dough and bake. Everyone thinks I have made it from scratch since I am a cake decorator/baker (not professionally though). Everyone loves them and I just soak in the "sweet love"

I don't sew so I use the iron on thingy. I don't even know what it's called but it's so that you don't have to sew and it looks like you have!!!

When my bed sheets and mattress begins to smell, I just spray some fabric freshener to make it smell like I just took it out of the dryer and my hubby doesn't know the difference.

My wedding ring isn't real. We bought it off ebay for $20 and no one knows the difference. Everyone thinks it's real and beautiful.
